Tracking the Bandwidth Thief

Untangling the bandwidth misuse is always a priority task for network administrators. Tools like OpManager NetFlow plug-in/ NetFlow Analyzer can help you identify which user or application or protocol is occupying the bandwidth, provided if your devices support flow export.

What if your devices do not support flow exports? Some data center don’t even have routers, but they do have Firewall as a gateway.

OpManager monitors the Firewall health and its Incoming/ Outgoing traffic but any SNMP based tool will not solve the purpose, i.e. Who causes the bandwidth spike? ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer can be help you analyze the Firewall Logs and give usage reports for Security, Traffic, Streaming video, etc. That’s not all; we can further integrate OpManager and Firewall Analyzer that lets you generate reports from a single console.

OpManager Firewall Snapshot Page

OpManager monitors the device health e.g. Utilization of CPU & Memory, Active Connection Count along with the “Inside” and “Outside” interface traffic.

OpManager Firewall Report

Protocols Report

Streaming and Chat Report

Firewall Analyzer gives you extensive VPN Reports, Intranet-Internet Reports too. Isn’t it easier to use OpManager and Firewall Analyzer to catch the Bandwidth misuse in your environment? Any Network Security Analyst should give this a try and see How Network Security Threats can be avoided with OpManager and Firewall Analyzer.
