This should have been posted a loooooooooong time back...probably 6 months back....but I am updating it now.
6 months back I visited Hyderabad...for a Customer Training for Opmanager MSP and I got a chance to meet one of my best friends, Anitha (Anie), who is married and works in Google Inc, as a QA.
HYDBD has a hot and dull climate...but its a nice and polluted city. I would say, one of the cheapest cities in India but with its potential...it could do more...
once I went to the Google complex, anie invited me to her Google Centre. It was a 10 storey building. I entered the main block to find a WHITE BOARD with some keywords scrolling...
I was taken aback...it was all the search keywords we hit in google search box....now, isn't it wrong for google to do something like that and post it to their employees and visitors...well i dono..i felt so...but it displayed all the search strings....line by line...
Then, I went inside..it was a normal work environment with 100 of users running here and there..submitting reports...some jumping here and there...(yes, u know google folks. this is how they work)...there were bean bags next to the employee chairs...
now, one of the best things i found in the company was SECURITY - except for the guy outside, who tags ur name and the employee details, there is no security restricitons in the company....now, thats TRUST in employees and visitors, thats y, google is loved by everyone I guess...well i did....
No security gush..no messages...all fun stickers...all cool stuff happenin in the complex....
Then, she took me to the cafeteria....there was unlimited food...chocolates..ice creams...twix...snickers...cokes...sodas.....and much more...everything is FREE....yes....ITS FREE.....
there were games table....pc games...snookers...and much more....i loved the campus..but one thing that hit me hard is that...ppl do stuff in line..in queue....if i want to leave for break...10 employees start it out in queue...it seems they are trained to do like this....
I met her hubby..nice guy...enjoyed my stay there, I started immediately...it was a 30 mins visit but I loved it and it was FUN.....
Will come back HYDBD...and GOOG
